Off The Mud Road With Shad

Starting out on the outer trail, still pretty clean.

Starting out on the outer trail, still pretty clean.   An early mud patch.   A long, deep section.   A closeup - I'm just entering the water.   Looks like Shad cheated - he kept two wheels on the bank that time.   Trying to get up this hill...   This is as far as I got.   We were crossing a swampy area and I tried to yell to Shad that he had a big log sticking out but he didn't hear, by the time he stopped it looked like this.   The funny thing is then I noticed I had one, too.   We stopped to take a pic of Shad just clearing the tree and I noticed Shad's plate was bent.   Then I looked at mine.   We had to head out so we splashed through the outer puddle.   And played with the ruts.   When we stopped to unlock I noticed wood sticking out of the bead of my tire! I pulled out what I could but it was in there.   I went to the tire place and had them pop it and reseat it sans wood. Here's what was in there, no apparent damage.

Shad Came down with his son and we went over to The Mud Road near Putney, VT. There's a rutted, muddy section and a few side trails off of that road. We went down one that I had explored earlier and found interesting trails, lots of mud and some deep water to cross.
